AUSTIN POWERS

The spy who shagged me

Cert. 12, running time 95 mins

There thats better! Well what can I say about this movie other than funny, but most of it has been done before. Namely in Austin Powers International Man of Mystery. Not to say that this is a bad movie, but it takes few risks by sticking to what it's good at. Too many jokes were just too similar to those in the first movie. The jokes are funny, however, there is no doubt about that, and despite what I said there are some new jokes too, including a hillairious scene where you see Austin and Felicity's shadows on a tent, and lets just say they seem to show some compromising positions. The storyline however, is original and a damn good one it is. Doctor evil travels back to the sixties to steal the source of Austin's powers- his mojo. Asissted by his little companion mini-me and many others from the first, successful film, he hatches another truly evil plot, in which he hopes to profit, yes "One hundred billion dollars!", by threatening to destroy Washington D.C with a giant "Laser." At this point the review has now been altered to not spoil the ending, however I'm sure you can guess that the film will probably have the traditional Austin saves the day, gets the girl, and Dr Evil gets away style ending. Guess I did spoil it after all!
